Balance & Stress
Balance Functional Snack – Beetroot
Take a pause. Choose something different.

THE FACT
Nearly 1 in 2 workers in the European Union (46%) report being exposed to severe work overload or time pressure¹.

SOUND FAMILIAR?
An order, a call, a delivery: as soon as you finish one thing, another is already waiting. There’s barely any room to stop. You can already feel the tension in your shoulders and head.

THE BRIDGE
This is Balance Functional Snack – Mango. A snack made with mango and rice bran oil using vacuum frying, standing out for its crunchy texture and high fiber content.

Origin / why
Balance – Beetroot is dried, crunchy beetroot, with that distinctive purple color that comes from an antioxidant very few foods contain. It also naturally provides potassium, a mineral involved in the normal functioning of the nervous system, ideal for those high-pressure days when it’s worth choosing your snack wisely.

“Potassium is one of those minerals we almost never think about until it’s missing. The fact that it’s naturally present in a snack you actually feel like eating on a tough day is a definite plus.”

Beetroot (Beta vulgaris) 89% and rice bran oil from rice (Oryza sativa L.) seed bran.
Allergens

Warnings
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and high temperatures. It is important to follow a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Contraindications
Balance – Beetroot is not recommended for people with hypotension or on intensive antihypertensive treatment, as the natural nitrates in beetroot may enhance the drop in blood pressure. Frequent consumption is also not recommended for people prone to calcium oxalate kidney stones, given beetroot’s oxalate content. It’s normal for urine or stool to turn a reddish color after consumption; this is harmless.
Interactions
The natural vasodilating effect of beetroot’s nitrates may add to that of blood pressure medication; if you take medication for blood pressure, check with your doctor before regular consumption. In people with advanced chronic kidney disease or potassium-restricted diets, individualize intake given its potassium content.

01
Eye-opening fact
Inside your cells there’s far more potassium than outside them. That imbalance, actively maintained by the cell, generates an electrical charge: it’s the basis of how muscles contract and how nerve signals travel through the body¹.
02
Myth vs. reality
Myth:
“Bananas are the best source of potassium.”
Reality:
Not always. 100 g of this dried beetroot provides more potassium (629 mg) than 100 g of banana (358 mg)¹, for example.
03
Top ingredient
It’s normal for beetroot to turn urine a reddish color in some people. It doesn’t mean anything unusual: it’s simply beetroot’s natural pigment passing through the body unchanged².

9to5 tip:
If you eat out or have little time to cook, think of potassium as a nutrient you can add throughout the day. Legumes, potatoes, vegetables, fruits, and nuts are some of its food sources. Having several options on hand makes it easier to build a varied diet, even on days with little time to stop.
